No, really. You should. Well, if it's fortified with iron. You see, ascorbate (vitamin C) is a strong natural reducing agent that facilitates iron uptake. So you get more iron absorbed per bowl of cereal! *fake smile while holding up diagrams of iron uptake* <-what would happen if biochemists created orange juice commercials
Yeah....studying.....making me crazy. Rhetorical question. Why oh why do there have to be multiple names for the same things?! Seriously. It's not necessary to have name after name. You have the layman's name, the chemical name, the acronym for the chemical name, the based on what it does name, the name that the guy who discovered it name... Just pick one already! V_V' Ok. Maybe I'm a little tense. Time to calm down.
If there was a way to roll up my textbooks and cram them into my brain mechanically instead of the painful hours of revision then I'd gladly do it. Although I'd probably just end up with multiple paper cuts....um, whose pain would be mediated by the greater auricular, lesser occipital nerve and CN VII and CN X. There's a lot of stupid nerves responsible for the cutaneous sensation on your ear. If you poke just the right place you'll want to cough. Think vagus nerve people!
Study Update! (like anyone cares) I'm making progress in biochemistry. If I keep it up I may possibly not be up the night before the test looking at topics for the first time. Novel concept.
Histology - *makes a face and shoves histo notes aside for the five hundredth time*
Anatomy - progress on some places that have been troubling me (nervous system of course) but I'm waaaaaaay behind in embryology and haven't glanced at lower limb/perineum in some time now which is starting to make me nervous. And I need to go spend some time in wet lab. Or else I should just kiss those 25 pts goodbye.
I would also like to say that Sonic Foundry (online videos of all our lectures) is SO AWESOME and I can't imagine medical school without it. Very useful resource. Especially on those days when you'd rather not move more than necessary (wouldn't want to upset the piles of note cards).
Oh, and in case you are still reading I'm currently collecting luck. Luck anyone? Dr. U recently told us not to rely on it too much but since I'm usually severely deficient (there should be a disorder name for it) I figure it can't hurt.
Ok, back to listening to lectures. *muttering* I think my pen is about to run out of ink....
