Well, my finals week has started with a bang! A bang known as biochemistry. All I can say is 'I hope I pass' and damn if everyone wasn't right. Being a biochem major really
doesn't help you one whit on a medical biochemistry exam. Half the stuff is on drugs and diseases anyways. Generally things you
don't learn in undergraduate biochem. Oh, and the insane level of trickiness of questioning style. Man, I thought those seven page essay exams in advanced bio classes were hard but they have
nothing on an unassuming multiple choice test in med school.
I saw a really nifty bird on my way back though! It's a Green Heron (
Butorides virescens). I'd never seen one in person before and was really happy to have spotted him. It was also cool since they tend to be nocturnal so it's rare to seem them in broad daylight like I did. :)

And yes, for once, this picture was actually taken by me and is not from flickr. Yay for zooming! He was a touchy thing and took off immediately when I tried to get closer than across the street. And even then he flinched when I raised the camera!
